I originally recorded this song on my album ‘River Song’ … however, that recording, relied heavily on synthesizers and effects.

This version … on the contrary … is all live and acoustic instruments (minus the electric guitar) … the original recording had a much bigger climactic point … whereas this recording is more understated, subtle, and meditative.

I also take more of the lead, about two thirds through I start to almost solo … breaking from the constant baseline to increase the energy … something I rarely do, but felt I had to in the moment.

Goodnight is based on the idea of a lullaby … the feeling one gets from being sung to sleep …
