I wrote and recorded ‘South Cloud’ in 2016 at the same time as my debut album Chicory Root. The two projects couldn’t be more different and I was scared to release ‘South Cloud’ because I thought it might be ‘too weird’ … now, I know better to second guess my artistic instincts so here it is !

This song was a bit of an experiment … my FIRST time recording electric bass on one of my albums … it is a simple jam built over a really weird, yet oddly satisfying groove in 5/4 time.
