‘Voice = Power’

/// Downloads & Digital Liner Notes ///

This album was my second album, but first major real-world recording project …

My previous record, ‘Chicory Root’, was created in the safe space of academia … ‘Voice = Power’, however, had real pressures (financial, logistical, and creative) … not to mention I was now signed to a major NYC record label, who wanted results … that is a story for another time :)

‘Voice = Power’ was recorded live at Rittenhouse Soundworks in late 2018 … it was a magical night, months of preparation culminating in a beautiful performance … consisting entirely of first-takes … I was certain that this would be my ‘break-through’ record …

However, the world had other plans …

We were set to release in May 2020 … a tour was booked … and the press was starting to notice … then COVID …

I came very close to quitting music during the pandemic, but I’m so glad I didn’t … and overjoyed that I get to share this album with you now …

Below are digital downloads of audio files AND sheet music … there are also some videos and some more liner notes … please be sure to scroll all the way down because I’ve saved some of the best for last !!!

I sincerely hope you enjoy this album, I hope it inspires you in whatever creative activity resonates with you, and I hope your journey is a prosperous one !!!

Bonus Content !!!

/// videos ///

Below are two videos that were made in support of the ‘Voice = Power’ album …

The first was a mini-documentary about the connection I feel between music and rock-climbing … as you know I’m an adventurer, both musically and in the natural world and my adventures in each inspire more exploration into the other !

The second is a music video that I made for ‘Crucian Lullaby’ … it features footage from the national archives from the 1906 San Francisco earthquake … the video was a little too bleak for the pandemic and got shelved … much like the album itself … however, I see it now as a testament to human resilience in the face of hardship.
